Healthy Banana Brownies (Fudgy & Naturally Sweetened)

If you’re craving something chocolatey but want to keep things on the healthier side, these healthy banana brownies are exactly what you need. They’re soft, fudgy, naturally sweetened with ripe bananas, dates and chocolate. Made with simple ingredients. 


These brownies don't have any refined sugar or butter and they are indulgent and nutritious. 

Ripe bananas add natural sweetness and moisture, you can skip heavy amounts of sugar and butter for a healthier option.

Healthy banana brownie recipe:

3 medium or 4 small ripe bananas (200 g) 

1/4 cup dates diced and packed (50 g) 

1/3 cup melted dark chocolate
1/3 cup olive oil
1 large egg
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup flour or oat flour
1 tsp baking powder 


4 tbsp chopped hazelnuts for decoration 


Instructions


  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a small baking pan with parchment paper. 
  2. Puree the bananas and dates together with using a hand blender in a bowl until smooth. 
  3. Add melted chocolate and mix well with the blender until smooth. 
  4. Add in olive oil and egg and blend until smooth.
  5. Sift in cocoa powder, flour and baking powder in. Mix with a spatula until combined. 
  6. Spread the batter into a parchment lined baking pan.
  7. Sprinkle chopped hazelnuts on top. 
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the center is set and check with a toothpick. 
  9. Let cool before slicing.
